Ktima Biblia Chora – Plagios White 2023

The Plagios White from Ktima Biblia Chora is a 100% Chardonnay from the Pangeon region in Macedonia. This 2023 vintage is quite a complete package, coming with generous aromas of exotic fruits. The Plagios White has long been one of my favorite Greek Chardonnay-based wines, consistently scoring around 93 to 94 points across vintages. Some vintages lean more exotic and variegated, while others – like the 2020 I revisited – showed more elegance with lemon tart and brioche notes. The 2023 lands firmly on the exotic side and delivers a well-rounded, satisfying experience that earns 93 points. Along with wines like the Alpha Estate Tramonto and the Stella from Ktima Katsarou, the Plagios White remains one of the top Chardonnay expressions Greece has to offer – and one that is easily available in Germany, unlike the harder-to-find Stella.
