Christos Kokkalis – Trilogia 2012
PGI Ilia
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Peloponnese, Greece
Red | dry
14%
Drinking window: –2035
A very special vintage: the last Trilogia that Kokkalis produced entirely on his own – 2013 was never bottled, and 2014 was already vinified by Biblia Chora. When tasted in 2024, it disappointed: almost nothing but leather, with little else to offer. In January 2025, I opened a new bottle with a Coravin and scored it 93+. Within that single year, it has transformed remarkably: now (June 2025) it shines with astonishing freshness, plenty of dark fruit, and a spicy note of juniper berry; the previously rough tannin is noticeably softer and perfectly integrated. Currently 94 points. I expect it to maintain this level until at least 2035 – lovers of aged wines may even award it more points over time.

Tasted: June 2025
