Christos Kokkalis — Trilogia 2009
PGI Ilia
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Peloponnese, Greece
Red | dry
Drinking window: –2030
Aromatically close to the 2012, but with a distinct iodine note. Tannins more uneven, yet overall less extract – rosemary, leather, mocha, and cigar box define the profile, supported by robust acidity. In 2024 it presented itself confidently at 92 points; after the current tasting, those 92 points are called into question. Of course, significant bottle variation is possible, but I would be surprised if many bottles continue to improve beyond 2030…
Tasted: June 2025
