Panagiotopoulos Wines — Fileri 2020

PGI Trifilia
100% Fileri
Peloponnese, Greece
White | dry

As part of a Moschofilero tasting, the Fileri grape was also included — a variety that is either an ancestor or descendant of Moschofilero, or perhaps simply an expression of a different terroir or ripeness level. At Panagiotopoulos Wines, they consider them distinct grape varieties, and the wine in the glass makes that case very convincingly. A mineral wine that has barely anything in common with the Kalderimi from the same estate. A hint of mandarin makes itself known. A very good 88 points.
