Wine Art Estate — Anafora Limniona 2020

Wine Art Estate's Anafora Limniona 2020, a 100% Limniona from PGI Macedonia at a modest 12.7% alcohol, is not just about tart cherry but also delivers strong barnyard aromas. Some might not like that and prefer a purer aromatic profile, but I personally am a fan of such aromas. Together with licorice, tar, and black tea, and in combination with an unusual amount of extract, this was the most serious Limniona I've tasted so far — earning 93+ points. Give it two to three years, and it will be even better once the oak is more integrated.
