Having previously enjoyed the Clos Stegasta series from T-Oinos in both red (Mavrotragano) and white (Assyrtiko) form, I was eager to finally try the rosé. The 2022 Clos Stegasta Rosé, produced on the island of Tinos under the PGI Cyclades appellation, is a blend of 35% Assyrtiko, 35% Mavrotragano, 20% Augoustiatis, and 10% Malagousia. The nose is not overly aromatic, mostly exhibiting cherry notes. But on the palate, it is lovely. Great acidity and minerality, with a long aftertaste. I couldn't stop searching for the Malagousia in the blend. Paired with salmon at an Asian restaurant on the recommendation of sommelier Fotios Stamoulis, the wine went excellently with food. A wine to think about or simply to enjoy. Structurally, it is not quite as layered as the Silphium Rosé from La Tour Melas, which I had the week before. But it will also age well — if not better. I'd keep it for another year or two before opening it. A compelling rosé that earns 94+ points.
