Metochi Chromitsa — Agathon 2006
PGI Agion Oros Athos
50% Limnio, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Macedonia, Greece
Red | dry
14.5%
The Agathon 2006 (PGI Agion Oros Athos, 14.5% vol, 50/50 Limnio and Cabernet Sauvignon). Noticeably more mature on the nose, but little mushroom character; instead, abundant herbs. Plenty of tea on the palate as well. Astonishing acidity for 14.5% alcohol — in fact too intense for one to perceive delicate tertiary aromas. Only 85 points, but equally no reason to assume that this wine should fall off a cliff over the next five years.
