Ktima Biblia Chora — Etos Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

PGI Pangeon
Cabernet Sauvignon
Macedonia, Greece
Red | dry
Organic

Following the Merlot in 2006, this 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is the second wine in the Etos series from Ktima Biblia Chora — and the highest-scoring wine in a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon tasting, as well as the only one that comes close in price to the Penfolds Bin 407 used as the benchmark wine. The first bottle, which had been opened beforehand, could easily have been mistaken for something 10 years younger; in this tasting, however, the first — entirely appropriate! — signs of maturity were discernible. That said, it will surely remain a pleasure for decades to come. A wine with gorgeous fruit and polished tannins that are about as good as it gets. No need to beat around the bush: a clearly phenomenal wine at 95 points. Unfortunately, not many bottles are likely still floating around on the secondary market.
