Jima Winery's Super Girl "Day 29" 2024 is a 100% Debina from the Zitsa area in Epirus — and a successor of sorts to the estate's earlier Miss De Bina bottling, which was retired after the 2021 vintage. Where Miss De Bina 2021 was all whisper-fine, silk-like elegance, Super Girl pivots toward a rush of freshness. Late-August hand-picked fruit undergoes spontaneous fermentation split between stainless steel and amphora, followed by five months on the fine lees (12.6% vol, RS 1.1 g/L, TA 6.1 g/L). The nose opens with exotic blossom, grapefruit zest, and green apple. On the palate, laser-bright acidity meets salty minerality and a thread of fresh herbs; the finish is crystalline and refreshing. At 91 points, this is an excellent expression of an underrated variety — though I must admit I still miss the effortless poise of Miss De Bina 2021; elegance, it seems to me, remains the benchmark for Debina. Best enjoyed 2024–26. In Germany, Super Girl is available through Wine & Nature.
