Alpha Estate – Chardonnay 2018

On the nose, vanilla from the oak ageing and citrus notes come together very harmoniously. On the palate, this wine from Alpha Estate shows good creaminess and a finish driven primarily by oak. The flavour development itself is somewhat less complex than, say, the Plagios from Ktima Biblia Chora. On the other hand, the Tramonto has more to offer lovers of oak-driven notes. This is a wine that really comes into its own with food – think the classic mushrooms in cream sauce – and it certainly won't disappoint there, earning 93 points as a superb food companion.
