Alpha Estate — Barba Yannis Reserve 2017

The Barba Yannis Reserve 2017 from Alpha Estate shows strongly reduced fruit on the nose — strawberry and the very typical dried strawberry. On the palate, fine but still somewhat edgy tannins with a very long finish. A wine best enjoyed with fatty meat. It needs a lot of time to open up: earthy notes, clay, then blood alongside the strawberry. The tannins coat the front of the mouth and the teeth in very typical fashion. Milk chocolate on the aftertaste. Acidity especially good on the finish. 93+ points.
