Papargyriou Winery — Ca, C'est Correct 2020

100% Chardonnay
Peloponnese, Greece
White | dry
12.5%

A very nice barrel-aged Chardonnay from Papargyriou Winery, whose wines we hope to review more extensively on our site soon. This 100% Chardonnay comes from vineyards at 700 meters altitude in the Peloponnese, which keeps the alcohol at a modest 12.5%. The wine is very fresh, accordingly, but with just the right amount of oak — eight months in 500-liter barrels. A yield of 42 hl/ha shows in the concentration and depth. Long aftertaste. We paired it with porcini mushrooms found by my mother-in-law, and it was perfect for the dish — not a formal tasting for our webpage, just a spontaneous match that worked beautifully.
