Vriniotis Winery — Assyrtiko 2022

The true star of the night for me — a mainland Assyrtiko, the OMMA Sur Lie 2022 from Vriniotis Winery on Evia. You'll search a long time until you find such a complete wine on Santorini. Some old-style Nykteri wines perhaps, but not for this price. Of course it's not as salty and pure as the two 2022 Santorini Assyrtikos I had a couple of days ago, but you get yellow stone fruits and some chalk that coats the mouth, plus a much longer aftertaste. A magnificent mainland Assyrtiko that earns 94 points.
