Vietti – Barbera d'Asti 2021

I am not the greatest fan of Barbera – I know some crazy Xinomavro wines that accomplish the same thing, such as those from Ktima Kelesidi – but I do like the Barbera d'Asti La Crena from Vietti! This 2021 vintage, made from 100% Barbera and clocking in at a hefty 15% alcohol, deserves some more years in the cellar. Wonderful plum aromas and vibrant acidity make this a compelling wine that currently earns 93+ points.
