Titakis – Impetus 2019

The Impetus Kotsifali-Merlot-Syrah 2019 from the Cretan winery Titakis is one of the most disappointing red wines from Crete in recent years. The fresh nose, reminiscent of cherry jam, does raise some hope, but the palate is dominated by tart, unripe notes. The 13% alcohol fails to bind the flavours together. 83 points. Paul Gegas gave the 2018 at least 87 points – and this 2019 was definitely a good stretch away from that.
