Semeli Estate — Oneiros Helios 2019

Tasted as part of a tasting of Agiorgitiko cuvées, the Oneiros Helios rot 2019 from Semeli Estate is a blend of 80% Agiorgitiko and 20% Syrah. A fairly well-made entry-level wine. There's decent fruit (raspberry above all) and even a touch of oak. At first you might think oak chips, but the answer to the riddle is six months of ageing in used barrels. Still, you get oak aromatics for very little money, if that's your thing. It's not as well integrated as in more expensive wines, of course. An already very good wine at 84 points.
