Palivou Estate – Nemea 2018

This single-varietal Agiorgitiko from PDO Nemea was tasted in the first half of 2021 and already shows noticeable oxidative notes – a reminder that Agiorgitiko is not exactly the greatest candidate for extended aging. This wine really shouldn't get much older than it already is. Stylistically, it draws a fitting parallel to the Agiorgitiko vinified just outside the PDO by Giannikos Winery. So much cherry and strawberry, and at the same time so many herbs – what more could you possibly want from a Nemea? At a price under €10, absolutely nothing. An excellent 91 points are truly well deserved here.
