Nemea Winery — Malagouzia 2021
PGI Peloponnes
100% Malagousia
Peloponnese, Greece
White | dry
12.5%
Hailing from the PGI Peloponnes, the Malagouzia 2021 from Nemea Winery was tasted as part of a large Malagousia comparative tasting. The 2021 vintage comes in at 12.5% alcohol and is marked by a rather mouth-filling acidity. On the palate, the wine is overall more structurally driven. Right from the first sip, there's a notable minerality, though one could argue whether that actually makes the wine better. The finish doesn't bring much new to the table aromatically either. On the other hand, the nose is a knockout — black tea, citrus notes… iced tea, basically! That had never been quite so obvious before. All in all, that makes for a very good 85 points.
