Naoussa Winzergenossenschaft — Xinomavro 1988

The 1988 Naoussa from the Naoussa Winzergenossenschaft (Naoussa cooperative) is a 100% Xinomavro at 12% alcohol. On the nose there is a hint of mustiness alongside dark berry fruit, while the palate still shows the lively acidity typical of Xinomavro. That said, this wine has clearly peaked and is now on the decline. At 85 points, it remains a decent if fading example of aged cooperative Naoussa.
