The variety Savatiano and the production method Retsina are almost synonymous, and often equated with the idea of making cheap wine drinkable with pine resin – but the reputation is changing, and Mylonas Winery has been instrumental in making the Savatiano variety famous again. Compared to the more floral and fruity Skoumpris Winery Savatiano 2021, the Mylonas 2021 Savatiano leans in a more herbaceous direction. At 12% alcohol, this PGI Attica white from 100% Savatiano is a compelling argument for the variety's potential beyond Retsina. An excellent wine that earns 90 points.
