Melidou Winery – Lefki Poli Rosé 2021

The Lefki Poli Rosé 2021 from Melidou Winery, made from Syrah, came across as noticeably fresher than the other rosés sampled during a tasting of Greek Syrah wines. Its colour still has a lovely gleam, and there's even a hint of residual spritz. On the nose, it shows a very well-balanced profile with pineapple and red currant plus a touch of kirsch – on the palate, the 13% alcohol is clearly noticeable too. Herbs like mint and lavender join in. Flavour-wise, a trace of floral notes and some stone fruit round things out. A very good wine at 88 points.
