Melidou Winery — Lefki Poli 2018

The red Λευκή Πόλη 2018 from Melidou Winery in the PGI Serres was the most polarizing wine in a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon tasting. With blueberry clearly in the foreground, this is not the most typical Cabernet Sauvignon in the lineup. But the wine is so wonderfully round, the 14% alcohol so superbly integrated and even enriching on the nose, that you simply have to award a magnificent 93 points here. The wine, produced according to organic principles by this small winery, is available for around 10 euros. Unbelievable.
