Matamis Winery — Luna Blu NV

Matamis Winery's Luna Blu is a refreshing sparkling wine from Macedonia, produced from a blend of Assyrtiko and Moschato at a gentle 11.5% alcohol. It offers a brilliant combination of acidity and flowery notes, with what I especially appreciated being the exotic fruit character lurking in the background. I loved the fact that the sommelier served the wine a touch warmer than usual, which allowed these aromas to come through beautifully. At 87 points, it's really good value for money and ideal as an uncomplicated aperitif.
