The Marqués de Murrieta Ygay Etiqueta Blanca 1981, a blend of 50% Tempranillo, 40% Garnacha, and 10% Mazuelo from Rioja, is no doubt a wine that is part of an amazing history — Marqués de Murrieta being one of the oldest and most storied bodegas in Rioja. But unfortunately, without the help of oak to sustain it, this bottle was undoubtedly already as dead as it could be.
