Ktima Tselepou – Mantineia 2021

PDO Mantinia
100% Moschofilero
Peloponnese, Greece
White | dry
13%

This PDO Mantinia from Ktima Tselepou marks the floral end of the appellation's spectrum even more clearly than, say, the wine from Vervenioti Winery, and it's also less mineral. On the palate, tannins, acidity, and residual sugar compete for attention in a lively dance. The alcohol at 13% – half a percent above the two other Mantinia wines tasted – gives the wine a touch more weight. A little too much CO2 currently disrupts the harmony, though, meaning that at the time of tasting the wine only just reaches an excellent 89+ points. That should change, however, not least because the finish is still lurking too much in the background for now. At around 10 euros, this is definitely a very good choice for getting acquainted with PDO Mantinia.
