Ktima Papoutsi — Asproyes 2021

The Asproyes 2021 from Ktima Papoutsi (PGI Atalanti) was tasted as part of a comparative tasting of five cuvées made from aromatic varieties and Chardonnay. The wine brings together Malagousia and Chardonnay. Also 12.5% alcohol, but structurally noticeably rounder than, say, the Mati Fortuna 2021 from AstirX, which was also part of this tasting. The Malagousia here is clearly oriented toward the herbal end of the spectrum. Just as clearly as Greek mountain tea showed up in the glass during an earlier tasting of single-varietal Malagousia wines, here you unmistakably think of a eucalyptus infusion. A very good 87 points.
