Ktima Paliomilos is a small winery on the Cycladic island of Folegandros, originally founded in 2012 in Ilia on the Peloponnese before relocating to the island. Their Paliomilos Rosé 2021 is made from 100% Moschofilero, the naturally pink-skinned grape variety. On the nose, there's just a hint of flowers – nothing exuberant. Tannins and acidity are spot on, nicely balanced, but there's this oxidative twist that keeps it from being straightforward. It ends nicely though, with a pleasant finish that lingers just enough. This was tasted alongside several other Moschofilero wines with some colour, including Fteri Vinum's La Nonna Moschofilero 2020 and Ktima Kalogri's Mrs. Poulia Macerated 2021, and while it's the most restrained of the bunch, it holds its own as a solid entry point into the variety. A solid 84 points.
