Ktima Kissa — Mikros Dromos 2020

PGI Peloponnes
100% Moschofilero
Peloponnese, Greece
Rosé | dry

The Mikros Dromos 2020 from Ktima Kissa was tasted as part of a Moschofilero rosé tasting. Moschofilero needs the cool conditions that Greece often simply doesn't offer. The Mikros Dromos demonstrates that at the right altitudes — in this case, a small parcel at 750 m — Moschofilero can be successfully grown near Corinth, not far from Mantineia. Despite the elevated site, the Gulf of Corinth is just a 20-minute drive away. Temperature swings of more than 15 °C ensure very slow ripening. Dry farming adds further stress to the vines. And in the glass, all of that pays off. Jasmine blossom on the nose carries through into the first sip. The finish then reveals surprising red fruit notes, followed by a second wave dominated by complex herbal-ethereal aromas, especially eucalyptus. A very appealing, beautifully rounded wine that earns an excellent 90 points. You can't go wrong with this at a summer party.
