Edenia Bella 2021 by Ioanna Tsilili (Tsililis Terres) from the PGI Meteora. This wine is part of an exploration of aromatic Assyrtiko blends from across Greece, and the combination of Assyrtiko's acidity with Malagousia's diverse aromas seems a logical pairing — as Ktima Gerovassiliou's house wine already demonstrates, especially in vintages like 2021 when weather restricted the Malagousia. This organic blend of 65% Assyrtiko and 35% Malagousia undergoes a 6-hour maceration, with separate fermentation and joint aging. The result? A mouthwatering white blend, one of Greece's finest I've experienced recently, with a nose bursting with red berries and white flowers. Neither heavy nor kitschy, its texture weaves green apple and herbs into a wonderfully smooth experience, culminating in a quickly emptied bottle. A magnificent wine that earns 94 points.
