Estate Manolesakis — Gennima Psihis 2018

The red entry-level wine from Estate Manolesakis, bearing the former name of the winery. Restrained blackcurrant on the nose. Pleasant tannins on the palate, but accompanied by very dominant acidity at only 12% alcohol.

Stylistically similar to the same-vintage entry-level wine from Katogi Averoff (which has Agiorgitiko instead of Limnio blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot), though here specific aromas are lacking that would make the wine truly memorable. Sour cherry and plum come closest. Nonetheless, a wine clearly at the upper end of the "good" wines spectrum (79 points).
