Domaine Paterianakis – Melissokipos 2019

The Melissokipos Assyrtiko 2019 from Domaine Paterianakis was tasted on holiday in Crete back in 2021. What stayed with me is lots of stone fruit, herbs, and a chalky texture on the palate – and perhaps a hint of wax, fitting given the estate's love of bees. Stylistically similar to the Samonion from Toplou, but less exotic and overripe. 91 points.
