Dionysos Winery – Merlot 2021

The Merlot 2021 from Dionysos Winery is a wine for immediate enjoyment. For very little money (around €6), you get a wine that drinks beautifully with food. The nose is all red fruit, and the acidity buffers a considerable amount of residual sweetness at just 12.5% alcohol very well. The finish is even medium-length and pleasantly spicy, though naturally not extremely complex. It doesn't flag when you drink it over several evenings with dinner – one of the better wines in the winery's lineup. 86 points.
