Château Belgrave – Château Belgrave 2019

The Château Belgrave 2019, a 5ème Cru Classé from the Haut-Médoc, is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc right on the border with Saint-Julien, neighbor to Château Lagrange. The blend consists of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot at 14% alcohol.

In a blind tasting, the Belgrave immediately stands out with a distinctly different aromatic profile. Speculoos spice on the nose, along with loads of plum and a faint hint of sulfur. On the palate, a very delicate, dusty tannin reveals itself. Sophisticated Cabernet with well-judged oak aging is clearly evident here. The finish is long and hints at the aromatic complexity this wine has yet to develop. 93+ points with clear aging potential.
