Astir X Winery — Mati Fortuna weiß 2021

The white Mati Fortuna 2021 from AstirX (PGI Peloponnes) was tasted as part of a comparative tasting of five cuvées blending aromatic varieties with Chardonnay. The wine combines Moschofilero (50%) with Chardonnay (50%). The acidity is quite aggressive, but aromatically the wine is genuinely interesting: floral notes dominate on the nose, while fruity aromas emerge on the palate towards the finish. Before that, though, tannins join the acidity in taking center stage, which — despite only 12.5% alcohol — puts the brakes on the wine somewhat, at least for some palates. A very good 85 points.
