Astir X Winery – Astakos White 2021

The white Astakos 2021 from AstirX was tasted as part of a comparative tasting of five cuvées made from aromatic varieties and Chardonnay. In the Astakos, the aromatic variety – Gelber Muskateller at 60% – takes the lead, complemented by Chardonnay. Typical but understated nose. Quite light too at 12.5%, but with very pleasantly integrated residual sweetness. Surprisingly quaffable and elegant at the same time. An excellent 89 points, because it was universally well received across the board at the tasting.
