The Tannat Vrachos 2017 from Alpha Estate is very restrained on the nose, even given plenty of time. Just faintly earthy notes and dark fruit. On the palate, a fruit sweetness dominates that makes the wine quite approachable – but in five to ten years things should really start to get exciting here. On the finish, the alcohol makes its presence felt. 92+ points.
