Acheon Winery — Laura Nera 2019

PGI Slopes of Aigialeia
100% Mavrodaphne
Peloponnese, Greece
Red | dry

A very refreshing dry rendition of the Mavrodaphne grape. The nose is dominated by lovely lingonberry fruit. On the palate, there's an immediate explosion of herbs, with even rather unusual aromas like savory coming to the fore. Served slightly chilled, acidity and tannins dance on a knife's edge, making this a perfect companion to the delicate roasted flavors of grilled seafood.

An already outstanding wine at 90 points, which unfortunately is not yet available in Germany. It would be wonderful if other wineries followed the creative Acheon Winery's lead with this style of vinification.
